Two teenage girls are recovering after being assaulted by a masked man in Mission, BC.The suspect, a caucasian male wearing a ski mask, a black hoodie with a large red or orange logo on the front, black skinny jeans, and black shoes, is still at large.According to the Mission RCMP, the incident took place shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday at Centennial Park near the intersection of Taulbut St. and 11th Ave. The suspect approached the girls, aged 15 and 16, kicking one off her e-scooter and shoving the second to the ground. The suspect initially tried to steal the scooter but instead took an iPhone that had fallen during the attack..Despite the broad daylight and the presence of numerous bystanders in the park, the suspect managed to flee. A bystander attempted to intervene, prompting the man to flee on foot toward 14 Avenue. He has not yet been located.Fortunately, both girls sustained only minor physical injuries.RCMP have released photos of the suspect and are asking the public for assistance in identifying him. Anyone who recognizes the individual or witnessed the incident is urged to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, referencing file number 25-6584.Residents in the area of Grand Street and 14th Avenue are also asked to review any security footage recorded between 8:50 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. on June 6, in case the suspect was captured on camera.
