Authorities in Calgary and Edmonton have laid charges against three individuals and seized 17.5 kilograms of drugs in connection with a provincial drug trafficking network.

The investigation began in Marc, when the Calgary Police Service (CPS) District 4 Operation Team identified a suspect allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

As the investigation unfolded, officers determined that multiple individuals were operating in both Calgary and Edmonton.

On Saturday, March 15, police arrested two individuals at a residence in the 200 block of Sovereign Common S.W. in Calgary.

A search warrant executed at the location led to the seizure of 11.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 500 grams of cocaine, $30,000 in cash, and high-end jewelry and designer handbags, which authorities believe were purchased with proceeds of crime.

Jackson Ngo, 32, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and one count of flight from a peace officer.

Ngoc "Jennifer" Le, 32, also of Calgary, faces the same drug and proceeds of crime charges. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 2.

In a coordinated effort, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) arrested another suspect on March 15, who was allegedly transporting drugs between Calgary and Edmonton.

Officers seized an additional six kilograms of methamphetamine and $4,000 in cash during this arrest.

Adrian Hoong, 28, of Edmonton, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. Hoong is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 9.

“This investigation highlights how crime in Calgary can extend beyond our municipal borders and the importance of working together with our law enforcement partners to hold drug traffickers accountable,” said A/Staff Sgt. Jake Debolt of the CPS District 4 General Investigations Unit.
