After energetic stops in Westlock, Red Deer, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, the Alberta Christian Municipal Rally arrives in Calgary Saturday night.Organizers throughout the tour have been calling on Christians across the province to “gather, pray and actively bring biblical principles into municipal leadership.”Led by Michael Clark, Executive Director of the Christian Impact Network and known as “Canada’s Political Missionary,” this initiative is actively recruiting Christians across Alberta to run for positions such as mayor, city councillor and school board trustee, believing that faithful public service at the local level can profoundly impact communities.“This tour directly confronts the misconception that Christians need to check their faith at the door when entering public life,” said Clark. “Faith and politics absolutely mix. As scripture reminds us: ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain’ (Psalm 127:1),” wrote Clark in a statement to the Western Standard.“To lead a city, province or country effectively, the fear of the Lord must be central. Without it, we continually misdiagnose our political and societal problems. Proverbs 9:10 makes it clear: ‘The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.’”Each ACMR event features worship, prayer, Christian candidate introductions and practical instruction.Doors open Saturday night at Southside Victory Church at 6:00 p.m. for fellowship, with the main event welcoming participants from Calgary and surrounding communities.Tonight's Calgary rally will include a special message from former MP and prominent Christian leader Stockwell Day, as well as commentary from Western Standard Opinion Editor Nigel Hannaford, alongside local political figures and campaign leaders. The ACMR also hosts a growing fellowship of Christian candidates across Canada.“Our fellowship is open even to those simply considering candidacy and who wish to learn more before committing. By joining, candidates gain access to a supportive network of Christian mayors, councillors and trustees nationwide, sharing challenges and encouragement,” said Clark. Those interested can sign up at: https://christiansthatcare.net/candidate-applicationAdditionally, the ACMR is actively recruiting and training Christians as campaign managers, addressing a critical but often overlooked need.“When we ran this initiative in Ontario in 2022, 90% of our 110 Christian candidates lacked a campaign manager,” said Clark.“It’s not a glamorous role, but it’s essential. We strongly encourage Christians to consider campaign management as either a career or a ministry. This role offers a tremendous opportunity for nationwide impact.”Addressing those less inclined toward public roles, Clark humorously noted: “Introverts, you’re not off the hook—just because you prefer avoiding the limelight doesn’t mean you can’t have a huge impact behind the scenes.”Volunteers are also urgently needed across Alberta. Clark issued a bold call to action: “Stop being a Christian couch potato. Instead of complaining about what you see in the news, let us help you get off the bench and into the game.”For specific event details about times, locations, and venues, visit ChristianImpactNetwork.com, where event posters for every city are available.📍 Remaining Tour Dates:Monday, July 14 – EdmontonTuesday, July 15 – Alder FlatsWednesday, July 16 – Drayton ValleyThursday, July 17 – LloydminsterSunday, July 20 – EdmontonMonday, July 21 – PonokaGrande Prairie – Announcing soonStop in your area??? – Contact us!Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)❓ Thinking of running for mayor, council, or school board?Even if you're not certain yet, join our candidate fellowship to learn more.👉 https://christiansthatcare.net/candidate-application❓ Interested in bringing the rally to your city or hosting at your church? We’re scheduling additional locations across Alberta—contact us today.📬 Email: info@ChristianImpactNetwork.com❓ How can I find out where you’re headed next? Each city has its own event poster with full details available online.📍 www.ChristianImpactNetwork.com❓ Are you seeking volunteers?Absolutely.
