The Kingston Police Force has issued a traffic warning for Centennial Dr., Kingston, the heart of the city — and where Tory leader Pierre Poilievre hosted a rally Wednesday night.

Police said there was "heavy traffic volume" along Centennial, and asked motorists to "avoid the area" if possible.

The Conservative leader has repeatedly drawn massive crowds to his campaign rallies, with thousands of people showing up each night from Winnipeg to Newfoundland since the election was called on March 23.

The Conservative rallies kick off with the playing of O Canada — and with the original words. Anaida Poilievre again introduced her husband before he came out on stage.

Poilievre at the Kingston rally was even more focused on President Donald Trump and the tariff war than he has been in the last number of evening events.

Earlier on Wednesday, Poilievre speaking at a press conference introduced his plan for dealing with the Trump administration after the election, and offered workers affected by the tariffs a support program.
