A two-year-old child who went missing from a rural home in Clear Hills County on Sunday night was found safe early Monday, following a large-scale search involving police, emergency responders, and over 100 community volunteers.Fairview RCMP received the report of the missing child at 10:24 p.m. and quickly mobilized support from the RCMP Real Time Operations Center. Additional resources were brought in, including the Grande Prairie RCMP Police Dog Services, British Columbia RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems members, Worsley Fire Department, and Grande Prairie Technical Search & Rescue..Search efforts continued through the night. At 6:05 a.m., a helicopter from Grande Prairie Technical Search & Rescue located the child approximately one kilometre from the residence. The child was assessed, found to be in good health, and reunited with their family.“I would like to thank all of those who answered our call for help,” said Const.Lucas Lehman of the Fairview RCMP Detachment. “Between the various RCMP units, Worsley Fire Department, Grande Prairie Technical Search & Rescue and all the volunteers, we were able to quickly cover search ground as well as have teams dedicated to other necessary search tasks. This is a fine example of partners and community coming together to achieve an important goal.”
