Getting ready for one last summer hike before the season ends? Make sure to stop by the lingerie store!.According to a study done by researchers at the New Mexico State University, a brand of perfume sold by Victoria’s Secret, called Bombshell, has been scientifically proven as an effective bug spray..Researchers tested eight different mosquito repellents, including some usual ones such as the Mosquito Skin Patch, and some less commonly thought of scents like the Victoria’s Secret perfume..The results showed “Victoria Secret Bombshell” repelled mosquitoes quite effectively during the first 120 min after application..Interestingly, the perfume was proven more effective than Mosquito Skin Patch’s, “the Mosquito Skin Patch did not reduce attraction rates for both species,” concluded researchers..The people involved in the study said fruity scents such as those found in Bombshell perfume have been shown in other studies to attract mosquitoes. The study promoted the perfume as being “shown to be a strong repellent with effects lasting longer than 120 min.”.Jackie Conroy is a reporter for the Western Standard.jconroy@westernstandardonline.com
