Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a violent offender who escaped from a forensic psychiatric hospital in Coquitlam. Christopher Ryan Becker, 33, was last seen around 5:30 p.m. after managing to flee from Colony Farm.According to the Coquitlam RCMP, Becker is 6-ft., around 300 lbs, and has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue shorts, and orange sandals.Becker is wanted on a Form 49 Warrant of Committal. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts has been asked not to approach him, but to call police at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2025-18973..Court records show he has a violent history, and has suffered from myriad mental health conditions since childhood. Initially diagnosed with ADHD and a number of other disorders at eight, he went on to be diagnosed with schizophrenia and polysubstance dependence at age 21, and bipolar and neurocognitive impairment at age 28. The latter was said to be due to his rampant drug use.In 2020, Becker attacked his cousin with a vacuum cleaner hose and when an elderly neighbour tried to intervene, he left him with a broken jaw, missing teeth, and bruising. He was originally deemed fit to stand trial, but eventually found not responsible due to insanity and taken to Colony Farm.
