W. Brett Wilson, Calgary-based entrepreneur and former Dragon's Den panelist, has reached out multiple times to NDP leader Jagmeet Singh in hopes of non-confidence action. Wilson on Monday issued an offer via Twitter (“X”) promising to arrange private funding for Singh’s pension if his party voted against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government in a non-confidence motion. Wilson told the Western Standard he extended the offer to illustrate a point — but that he was entirely prepared to follow through on his offer, should Singh accept."I posted that offer a few times in various forms on X almost entirely to support Poilievre's position that Jagmeet was only pausing or refusing in helping call an election because he wanted a full pension earned," said Wilson. "I have had a number of folks offer to join in support. Some tongue in cheek suggestions that I might make money allowing others to support the Private Pension Program.".‘DISHONEST ATTEMPT’: Liberals, NDP vow to drop Elections Act pension grab.“Hey Jagmeet Singh, please reach out,” wrote Wilson in a follow up on Wednesday.“I can arrange your pension without you waiting. It can start ASAP. You just have to help stop helping the current government.”“You step back (and) let Canadians decide who should run this country. We both know it’s not Justin Trudeau.”.This week’s proposition comes after Singh and the NDPs have supported the Trudeau Liberals in the last several non-confidence votes put forward by the Conservatives, the official opposition.Another vote is scheduled for Thursday — Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre designed the motion with the words of Singh himself, who continues to condemn Trudeau in public but supports him politically.Wilson posted his first offer in the caption of an image of Singh getting into a $200,000 Maserati SUV outside Parliament Hill..PARLIAMENTARY PENSIONS: Liberals, NDP held secret talks to rewrite Elections Act.Tories’ non-confidence vote quashed a second week in a row, Trudeau fails to appear.Singh and the NDP have been propping up the Trudeau Liberals since 2021 through a Supply and Confidence coalition deal. The two parties held secret meetings to push back the next fixed federal election date by one week so dozens of MPs from both parties could cash in on splashy parliamentary pensions.
