On Sunday, anti-Israel demonstrators lead a march near Calgary City Hall calling attention to a variety of domestic and international issues. The keffiyeh-clad crew dominated the event, though indigenous and climate-oriented protestors were also in attendance..Footage of the event captured by the Western Standard shows dozens of Palestinian flags at the front of the protest along with signs calling for an end to the "genocide" in Gaza..Morrigan, an anti-war, pro-peace, and environmental issues activist for the Canada-Wide Peace and Justice Network (CWPJN) attended the protest.Though not many attendees shared his agenda, Morrigan explained what his organization believes."The G7 works around those ideas of democracy, and it seeks to improve its power over the rest of the world," he said. "It doesn't really do that much else. Its innocent intents are really the total opposite if we really look. In this case, in 2025, President Zelensky has been invited — he is not a G7 member, and he is pulling us all into WWIII.".The anti-war protesters said they believe that the G7 will prioritize "likely more war, and more financialization of war, also entrapping the failed states crushed by war into debt, denying the ability to develop their resources, and their economy."Protestors shared a variety of views, with one offering some advice for all Canadians."People should do their homework," he warned. "Look independently if you don't trust what’s out there."
