A black former NFL and CFL player now running for Congress as a Republican in Arizona says he needs an assault rifle to protect himself against Democratic Ku Klux Klan members..Jerone Davison released a commercial about the issue, just days after a man with an "AR-15-style" rifle massacred seven people at a Fourth of July parade in a Chicago suburb.."Democrats like to say no one needs an AR-15 for self-defence," Davison says in the commercial..It then shows a group of KKK members armed with barb-wire wrapped baseball bats and pitchforks sneaking up on his house..Davison then brandishes his weapon and sends the Klansmen fleeing..He played for the CFL's Sacramento Gold Miners in 1994 and for the Oakland Raiders from 1996 to 1997.
