Disturbing video has surfaced of a child being showered with cash during a sexual minority — child friendly — event somewhere in North America. The incident is part of a growing trend in Western countries of children being exposed to adult sexual themes like drag shows — which are considered by some adult entertainment.Throwing cash at adult entertainers is a decades old tradition in many countries."As a drag performer, I want to walk in and be comfortable and in my adult space and not have to worry about if I'm going to indoctrinate or offend children or anybody," said Kitty Demure, a drag performer from Los Angeles to Fox news."And this is why kids do not belong in drag. This is an adult venue. It's an adult entertainment. And I don't understand why anybody pretends it's not.".A video of children and drag queens dancing provocatively and collecting money from adults is also circulating online. The event was allegedly sponsored by Paramount Plus and features the song Good Vibrations.Ashleigh Yule, a Calgary psychologist specializing in child and adolescent mental health, says “the idea that drag is somehow bad is actually incorrect,” reported CBC."From a developmental standpoint, kids have a very fluid understanding of gender. It’s really important to have healthy conversations that are developmentally appropriate about gender roles and … gender expression being part of art.”
