An 18-month-old boy was attacked at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow by a man who picked him up and slammed him headfirst into the floor.The boy is now in a coma and has serious skull fractures and spinal injuries. Vladimir Vitkov, a 31-year-old tourist from Belarus, was quickly taken into custody after the attack on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and is now under investigation for attempted murder. Right before the attack, Vitkov reportedly checked to see if anyone was watching, then picked up the boy by his legs and slammed him onto the floor. .The boy's pregnant mother had been absent collecting a pushchair for the child while he waited. Traces of cannabis were found in Vitkov's blood, according to reports citing the Russian Investigative Committee.Other reports claim there were other drugs discovered in his possession at the time. Vitkov has a daughter the same age as the victim.
