A clip of Emmanuel Macron being pushed by his wife, Brigitte, has gone viral. The French president denied that there was anything more to it, noting that as many couples do, they had been "just joking about."."There's a video showing me joking and teasing my wife and somehow that becomes a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe, with people even coming up with theories to explain it," he said, per CNN. "The videos are all real, and yes, sometimes people tamper with them, but people are attributing all kinds of nonsense to them.".The incident took place as the pair were preparing to disembark their plane after arriving in Vietnam. In the video, Brigitte's arm — the only part of her that is visible — comes up and strikes her husband in the face. He smiles, then looks and waves at the cameras below. As they descend the steps together, Brigitte refuses Macron's arm, holding the railing instead.According to CNN, a source close to the president dismissed the slew of rumours and conspiracy theories that had been ginned up by many online, dismissing them as Russian "disinformation."
