Canadian businessman and political analyst Kevin O'Leary says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will go down in history as Canada's "Idiot King."
Trudeau resigned on Monday following weeks of pressure from colleagues on both sides of the House of Commons. He suspended Parliament while the Liberal Party finds a new leader — angering millions of Canadians eager for a federal election.
O'Leary is a vociferous Trudeau critic. His latest insult adds to a long list, including calling Trudeau "the worst" manager Canada has ever seen. O'Leary once said Trudeau "killed Canada" and that he would not let him "manage a candy store."
"The liberals, of which Trudeau was the leader, had a majority mandate a decade ago," said O'Leary in a Fox News interview, noting the Liberals have 60 days to find a leader and will be "wiped out."
"And Pierre Poilievre is going to become the majority leader, most likely, and he'll be dealing with Trump, so his job number one is to get elected. Unfortunately, for Trudeau, you know, you have to respect the longevity. He's probably, after Mackenzie King, the longest (standing) prime minister in history. But he did it without any executional skills."
Everything Trudeau touched over the last decade turned to excrement, said O'Leary, adding the Canadian people finally understand Trudeau's incompetence.
"And unfortunately, his legacy, and these are harsh words, but by the metric of measuring GDP, per capita capital outflow, debt per capita, status of competition, the G20 they have all collapsed."
"And the one that really wrote them off was the Canadian dollar. Canadians have lost 41% of their net worth (during) his tenure. And he will go down in history as the Idiot King," O'Leary added.
