Quebec RCMP have released a promotional video where an officer tells Canadians to ignore what they see in the news, all is completely “normal” at the Canada-US border. The RCMP is at the border “patrolling 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure anyone crossing whether it be into the United States or into Canada, is intercepted,” says an RCMP officer, standing outside in the snow in front of a chest-level gate with holes and a sign that says “Stop.” .“We’ve been hearing a lot of things on the news about the border,” he said.“So what is the situation now? Well, the situation is normal. We’re here 24/7.”The officer said the RCMP is not just intercepting persons attempting to cross the border illegally, but also “contraband.”“When we’re talking about contraband, we’re talking about firearms, drugs and illegal tobacco,” he said.“And we haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.”“There’s no massive influx of migrants coming into Canada.”The video ends with the RCMP and Government of Canada logos.
