Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has reportedly cancelled his traditional year-end media interviews as his cabinet crumbles around him.

The prime minster did however make time to attend the Liberal holiday party Tuesday night, where he gave a speech about how the party is "family" and slammed his political opponent Tory leader Pierre Poilievre as "a grinch."

The Conservatives did not want to go along with Trudeau's costly GST break, and neither did his finance minister, Chrystia Freeland, who said as much when she resigned on Monday morning.

It wasn't just Freeland who stepped down this week. Trudeau's housing minister, Sean Fraser, also resigned. Fraser will not be seeking re-election, but Freeland still plans to run for the Liberals in the next election.

Further, a reported 60 Liberal caucus members want Trudeau ousted.

Mercedes Stephenson, Global News journalist, said she was scheduled to interview Trudeau Wednesday, but the Prime Minister's Office called Tuesday evening to cancel.

"Not just us, year enders across the board not happening," wrote Stephenson.
