York Regional Police are searching for a suspect and appealing for witnesses after a woman was shot outside her home in Markham on Tuesday evening.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting near Lee Ave. and Noble St. at approximately 5:30 p.m. They found a woman with a gunshot wound, who was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect arrived in a dark-coloured Audi A4 sedan and approached the victim outside her home. As the victim returned to her residence after speaking with him, the suspect shot her.
The suspect is described as an Asian male with a skinny build. He was wearing a high-visibility vest, a construction helmet, a dark hooded sweater, black pants, and a medical mask.
Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and are urging anyone with information or video footage from the area to come forward.
