Yale Medicine Gender Pediatric Program director Christy Olezeski confirmed the gender clinic is treating children as young as three years old. .“It is an interdisciplinary program working with gender expansive individuals three to 25 and their families,” said Olezeski in a video. .“We help individuals who are questioning their gender identity or who identify as transgender or non-binary.” .Olezeski said the Gender Pediatric Program helps young people with “their gender journey.” Their psychologists help young people think about gender transitions, talk about the risks and benefits of medical interventions, and build supports for them. .“It’s really wonderful to be working with individuals who are gender diverse and getting them supports and helping them on their gender journeys,” she said. .This video comes around the same time Boston Children’s Hospital Gender Multispeciality Service psychologist Dr. Kerry McGregor said its gender clinic sees “a variety of young children, all the way down to ages two and three.” .READ MORE: WATCH: Boston hospital admits to helping two-year-olds change gender.“When they come into the clinic, they’ll see one of our psychologists, and we’ll be talking to them about their gender,” said McGregor. .“We’ll be talking to their family about how to best support that child.”
