The City of Calgary is holding New Year’s Eve fireworks and other free activities at Prince’s Island Park Tuesday night to ring in 2025.

There will be activities for families, skating, dancing, live entertainment at food trucks starting at 8 p.m. at the park and Lot 59. Free parking is available on the eastbound, southside of Memorial Dr. N.W. between 10th St. N.W. and 4A St. N.W. from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m..

The fireworks display will commence at midnight, DJ’d by CJSW 90.9 FM with tunes from Canadian musicians. Mayor Jyoti Gondek will be there to lead the countdown —  after the inevitable indigenous prayer.

Other family-friendly NYE events in Calgary include:

  • ZOOLIGHTS at Calgary Wilder Institute/Calgary zoo, featuring activities, countdowns and light shows

  • TELUS Spark Science Centre disco party at noon

  • Calgary Central Library from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, featuring a dance party, story time, mock countdown. Also at Crowfoot, Fish Creek, Seton and Village Square libraries.

  • Fireworks at 6:30 p.m. in Airdrie at Ed Eggerer Athletic Field

Regular parking rates apply throughout Calgary on NYE, including on-street ParkPlus zones and in all Calgary Parking Authority parkades and surface lots. There is no charge for parking on the street after 6 p.m.

Calgary Transit will be free with extended hours. The C-Train runs until 4 a.m. on January 1, and most bus routes and the Max Orange, Yellow, Teal and Purple BRT lines run until 3 a.m.
