A woman has been found murdered in Penticton, BC.Police arrested a suspect at the scene, but they were later "released pending further investigation."According to the Penticton Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the incident took place on Saturday in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive. After receiving reports of shots fired, police arrived on scene, and located the deceased woman inside an apartment building with a significant gunshot wound.Her identity has not been released..The Penticton RCMP Investigative Services Section has since taken over the homicide investigation. Authorities have confirmed that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety."This is a tragic event," Penticton RCMP Investigative Services Commander Staff Sgt. Scott Hanry said. "We would like to offer our condolences to the victim's friends and family at this time. We have engaged our victim services team and they are supporting those in need.
