God has been excluded from Canadian public life in the name of inclusivity. The latest manifestation of this is the strange ban of prayer and gender pronouns for God issued to Canadian military chaplains, done in the name of diversity, inclusion and equity.“While the dimension of prayer may occupy a significant place for some of our members, we do not all pray in the same way; for some, prayer does not play a role in their lives,” wrote Chaplain General Brigadier General Guy Belisle in an October 11 directive to the military.“Therefore, it is essential for chaplains to adopt a sensitive and inclusive approach when publicly addressing military members.”Yes, this approach is so sensitive and inclusionary, it leaves no room for God. Public prayers have been banned for this Remembrance Day and any in the foreseeable future, which makes as much sense as banning all religion from funerals. One can only assume the national anthem will still be sung, despite its clear plea to the almighty deity, “God keep our land glorious and free.” The next part, “O Canada, we stand on guard for thee” will also seem ironic, given everyone is standing down on freedom of religion. One unnamed chaplain told Epoch Times Canada had broken its “covenant with the dead.” Most soldiers, he said, would have wanted to include God in their remembrance. He also predicted attendance at Remembrance Day ceremonies would slide as a result of the change. The pen, more powerful than the sword, has prevailed, at least the one held by atheist Karl Marx. HIs ideas were advanced in the mid-20th Century by the Cultural Marxists from the Frankfurt School who advanced ideas to destroy western values on the way to erecting Marxism. In 1965, leftist intellectual Herbert Marcuse made it clear tolerance was a form of Orwellian doublespeak, just like, “War is peace” and “Freedom is slavery” in George Orwell’s book 1984. Marcuse called for “liberating tolerance,” invoking the “liberation” term so dear to the Marxists who create slaves.Marcuse made the hypocrisy even more explicit when he wrote, “Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.” Leftist tolerance means wide open doors for every leftist and all their ideas and actions and no such rights whatsoever for opponents. Thumbs up for atheism, thumbs down for public prayer.Pluralism? No. Just Marxism — and no room to sin against the leftist religion in thought, word or deed.“Consequently, true pacification requires the withdrawal of tolerance before the deed, at the stage of communication in word, print and picture. Such extreme suspension of the right of free speech and free assembly is indeed justified…” wrote Marcuse.“The small and powerless minorities which struggle against the false consciousness and its beneficiaries must be helped: their continued existence is more important than the preservation of abused rights and liberties which grant constitutional powers to those who oppress these minorities.”And here we are. Religious symbols have been banned from military chaplains, reportedly because their presence might offend the indigenous and sexual minorities. Not only can God not be called upon, “Heavenly Father” is completely out of the question, thanks to the gender-based analysis of the federal government.DIE, diversity, inclusion and equity, does indeed mean the death of Canadian values and their origin acknowledged in the Constitution: “principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.”Instead of upholding this foundation, justices have twisted the Constitution to eliminate religion, especially Christianity, from public life. The federal Lord’s Day Act was an early casualty of this in 1985, all in the name of freedom of religion.A 2015 Supreme Court ruling prohibiting public prayers at municipal meetings allegedly inspired the new military policy. However, it was categorically ridiculous. How does the offence and legal complaint of an aetheist ban all council members across Canada from praying?Would the offence of a Christian capitalist get a councillor from making Marxist statements? No. Such double-standards are how the Marxist game is played.Marcuse actually called for anti-democratic actions in the name of democracy, so long as conservatives were the victims. No sins against Marxism would be allowed in thought, word or deed.“Withdrawal of tolerance from regressive movements before they can become active; intolerance even toward thought, opinion and word, and finally, intolerance in the opposite direction, that is, toward the self-styled conservatives, to the political Right,” Marcuse explained.“[T]hese anti-democratic notions respond to the actual development of the democratic society...”It is incredible the new left of the 1960s could be inspired by such foolish and illogical drivel. There is nothing liberating about liberating tolerance. It is simply the means to an end for Cultural Marxists to tear down the West. Sadly, they are doing a fine job. Patriotism, Christianity, the nuclear family and capitalism remain continually subject to the withering assault of critical theory. To boot, they are smothered by an endless array of regulations that usurp the wealth, values, beliefs and structures that have made Canada, Canada. Some 2,600 years ago, Isaiah wrote, “They say that what is right is wrong and what is wrong is right; that black is white and white is black; bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.” Tradition says the Biblical prophet was later sawn in two at the hands of his wayward king, who apparently had no room for truth, the God of Israel, or anything He had to say.An ocean apart and millennia later, history is repeating itself. The truth-tellers are silenced, God is excluded, and defenders of either suffer government aggression. The revolution is readily apparent. On Remembrance Day, or any other day, will Canada find those who stand on guard to defend her?
