The Emergencies Act Inquiry may be winding down to its conclusion this week, but it’s going out with a bang.In testimony Wednesday we learned Justice Minister David Lametti wanted the Canadian Army to get involved in suppressing the Freedom Convoy and even asked for a tank to assist in the fun. And you thought the Emergencies Act had nothing to do with martial law! Well, it used to be called the War Measures Act! Apparently the Liberal cabinet was envisioning something like the notorious Chinese response to pro-democracy protests at Bejing’s Tiananmen Square in 1989. .Here’s how it went, believe it or not .Lametti was shown a text message to Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino on Feb. 2 where a panicky Lametti insists military force might be needed to enforce the crackdown on the convoy protesters.“You need to get the police to move and the CAF if necessary. Too many people are being seriously adversely impacted by what is an occupation. I am getting out as soon as I can. People are looking to us/you for leadership. And not stupid people.” .Mendicino responds: "How many tanks are you asking for" "I just want to ask Anita [Defence Minister Anita Anand] how many we've got on hand"Lametti: "I reckon one will do!" .Do you suppose one of the “stupid people” might have been Prime Minister Justin Trudeau? . Brendan Miller David LamettiBrendan Miller, the lawyer representing the Freedom Convoy, squares off against David Lametti during the Emergencies [War Measures] Act Inquiry, November 23. Lametti's email correspondence reveals that he contemplated 'getting out' as soon as he could. .And Lametti says he is about to flee the city, he’s apparently so afraid of these awful truckers and their families. Talk about leadership? Of course Lametti is the arrogant, authoritarian cuss who said people who support the wrong political ideas should be concerned about the security of their money. “If you are a member of a pro-Trump movement who is donating hundreds of thousands of dollars, and millions of dollars to this kind of thing, then you ought to be worried,” Lametti told CTV..It all makes you wonder what kind of people are governing Canada. .And just as we learned this, Blacklock’s Report released an Access to Information document that shows how Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland was preparing a blacklist of truckers and truck companies affiliated in any way with the protest. ."Please find attached an Excel sheet detailing which companies whose trucks are participating in Ottawa convoy demonstrations,” some Freeland staffer wrote in an email from the minister's office.“A total of 45 companies whose trucks are in Ottawa have accessed the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy out of a total of 201 companies whose trucks are publicly known as being in Ottawa. Three of the companies with trucks in Ottawa are U.S.-based companies.” .The date the blacklist was sent out? Well, it was Feb. 14, Valentine's Day. Or as it might be remembered from now on in Canada, 'Emergencies Act Day.'.“Your corporate accounts will be frozen,” Freeland said at the time. “The insurance on your vehicle will be suspended. Send your semi-trailers home. The Canadian economy needs them to be doing legitimate work, not to be illegally making us all poorer.” .Freeland is scheduled to appear at the inquiry Thursday. So, hopefully she’s prepared to answer a few questions about all this. Remember how she started to freeze bank accounts of people who had contributed to the Freedom Convoy? And also recall the list of those people was illegally hacked from the internet, but that didn’t stop Freeland or the Libs from using it.The ass who hacked the website has never been charged.
