Who is John Galt? We seem to be living in a dystopian novel right now that combines the censorship of George Orwell’s 1984, the madness and drug-induced lethargy of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and the collectivism of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, from which the mysterious but heroic character of Galt emerges as the saviour of political sanity..Do you get the ominous feeling the system is just out of gas and grinding to a halt? His metaphor of gas is quite apropos, of course, because we are living with a federal government and numerous provincial governments that are quite schizophrenic and incapable of telling us the truth. .Well, before we examine how health care is the latest casualty of the Trudeau government’s mismanagement of life in general, let’s remember how bad things are..They continue to tax gasoline even as the price continues to be pushed higher. But these climate change activists are quite ecstatic about that because they want us stop being fossil fuels and start using green energy even though that is quite impossible. There is not enough green energy — whether it's electric cars, solar panels or windmills — to power our economy. The climate change politicians know that too but they just don’t want to admit it or publicly say it. It’s like saying it will break the spell..And how about this kamikaze plan to cap oil and gas sector emissions to achieve something called “net zero” by 2050 and to reduce oil and gas methane emissions by 75% by 2030?.These are all just numbers, but they add up to destruction of the oil and and gas industry with absolutely nothing to replace it. What are we going to be making? Solar panels and windmills? Tourism maybe?.It’s insanity, really, and we're all caught up in it..Take our health care system. The symptoms are there it's on life support. But of course, it has been for decades. Only repeated infusions of massive federal dollars have kept it alive, but that hasn’t kept it working efficiently..We all know if your life depends on Canada's health care system, you had better look elsewhere because by the time it gets around to looking at you, you could very well be dead. That’s why so many Canadians go to the United States every year for treatment. To stay alive or just to get that hip replacement surgery next month and not next year. .And if you’re looking for some honest assessment of the health care system, don’t first seek the opinion of a doctor, they tend to have too much invested in the system and won’t always tell you everything they know. Certainly, don’t ask a politician, who will just point his finger at another politician. .Ask a nurse. A nurse probably saved my life one time I was in the hospital because she wasn’t so anxious to have me on my way out of the hospital, but was concerned an operation had been seriously botched — something the doctor wasn’t prepared to consider..Linda Silas, president of the Canadian Federation of Nurses, has some frank words for the state of Canada’s health care. She’s says there’s a “dire staffing crisis” that could lead to the breakdown of the whole system that's “on the brink of disaster." She made the statement as Canada’s premiers start their Council of the Federation meeting..B.C. Premier John Horgan, who’s hosting this Council of the Federation, is expecting the federal government to increase it share of the health care spending from 22% to to 35%..Sure. And Trudeau can’t even afford to spend 2% of the GDP on defence to meet the NATO standard. His climate agenda is sucking the coffers dry..And that’s the point. Trudeau isn’t concerned about health care. He's obsessed with climate change, gender identity and the alleged white supremacists who lurk under every Freedom Convoy bed. And he really believes that’s what the average Canadian goes to bed worried about, but of course the only other Canadians doing so are the mainstream media propagandists who are nothing more than acolytes for Trudeau and the Liberal Party and who continue to tell Canadians these are the issues they should be concerned about..And as for the Chairman of the Board Horgan, what does he fret over? Well, building massive museums and telling everyone in his province they're hopelessly racist and that only massive doses of Critical Race Theory being shoved down the throats of their children at school will begin to solve this massive manufactured problem. That’s what Horgan is worried about, not health care.
