We live in a world where we protect criminals and not the victims..I’m disgusted with the recent Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) ruling that the Quebec City mosque murderer who killed six people in cold blood could be eligible for parole in only 25 years. This ruling is a major change in the way the evilest criminals serve their time in jail. There’s no other word than evil to describe the Quebec City mosque murderer..The crown prosecutors asked for at least 50 years, but all nine supreme court judges ruled against the 50 years in jail. It’s unbelievable that the highest court in Canada didn’t have one dissenting judge. The entire SCC sided with a mass murderer..In the old system, if someone killed six people, it would be 150 years of jail time, 25 years for each murder. Sounds fair for cutting short six people’s lives. But, the SCC views that type of sentence as cruel and unusual..“Not only do such punishments bring the administration of justice into disrepute, but they are cruel and unusual by nature,” read the SCC judgement..It is ridiculous that the SCC sided with a mass murderer who should rot in jail until he leaves the planet!.What about the “cruel and unusual by nature” effect on the families of those six individuals killed by the mosque murderer?.Or the survivors of the massacre, who live with the trauma each day of the horrific event?.Why aren’t they at the top of the list to protect?.The Quebec City mosque murderer could see the sun outside of a prison while the people he killed are six feet underground. Those murdered victims will never see the sun again and a dark cloud hangs over the families and friends of those killed and the survivors..Former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper brought in the ability for judges to sentence first-degree mass murderers to consecutive sentences, which is fair..Why should someone who killed six people be sentenced to the same jail time as a murderer with one victim?.Both are evil, but the mass murderer should serve more jail time. But the geniuses on the SCC don’t see it that way. To the SCC judges, one life is equal to six lives..That’s liberal logic for you!.According to the SCC judges, consecutive sentencing is “intrinsically incompatible with human dignity because of their degrading nature.”.“They deny offenders any moral autonomy by depriving them, in advance and definitively, of any possibility of reintegration into society,” read the SCC judgement..Throw the Quebec City mosque murderer into jail and throw away the key..There’s no reintegration for scumbags like that..Is it just me, or does the more education someone has make them incapable of common sense?
