An angry American millionaire hippie named Neil Young has endorsed Liberal Leader Mark Carney for prime minister.
It’s no surprise. Young is known for beautiful artistry and appalling political judgment. He became an American citizen (now dual) in 2020 — presumably to validate his vociferous complaints about Donald Trump. Also, some of Young’s family are American. His career thrived in the United States.
He is far removed from the economic and social devastation created by Liberals. Millions of Canadians can't afford rent and food. Jew hatred is now fashionable on university campuses and city streets.
Young has lived in the U.S. for decades.
His ringing endorsement of fellow elite millionaire Carney may suggest Young’s Trump Derangement Syndrome and anger have clouded his judgment. Maybe he still thinks Canada’s political left is liberal — as it was in the 1960s. Maybe he thinks Carney represents liberty and freedom.
“Mr. Carney, I believe you are the person to do it. I believe you are the person our country needs to lead us through this crazy situation and bring us out the other side as a stronger, smarter, more resilient Canada, our core values of caring and fairness and generosity intact, along with our souls. Without a doubt, you’ve got the chops to get it done, and man, you’ve got the guts to take it on. It’s a heavy lift, for sure, Mr. Carney, but I for one am with you all the way,” Young wrote in his endorsement.
Young is a self-righteous, censorious clown. Canadians should ignore his political opinions and endorsement.
In 2022, he demanded — arrogantly — that Spotify remove his music catalogue, citing the platform’s hosting of The Joe Rogan Experience, which he accused of spreading COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.
Young issued an ultimatum, saying, “They can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”
In the end, maybe he's like many other Americans and Canadians — guilty of watching too much TV without being alert to spoon-fed propaganda and hysteria.
