Fire and police crews rushed to Regina’s Co-op Refinery Complex early Tuesday morning to contain a blaze that broke out at approximately 4:49 am.
The fire started near a supply line, though it remains unclear whether there was an explosion.
Assistant Chief Glenn Wagner of Regina Fire and Protective Services said crews cooled the area and isolated a few gas lines.
Firefighters from the refinery’s own team, supported by city units, have the situation under control.
No injuries have been reported.
Regina Police Service asks drivers to avoid the area while emergency crews wrap up their work.
