UPDATE: Train derails in Regina, prompting major road closures, emergency response

A train derailed in Regina, causing emergency teams to rush to the scene.

No one was reported hurt.

The Regina Police Service (RPS) has reopened parts of the road between 1 Ave. North and Mikkelson Dr as well as Dorothy Street between Read Ave. and Fulton Dr.

RPS thanks the public for their cooperation.

An investigation is underway to figure out why the train derailed as it was crossing a bridge.

Officials will share more news about what happened as they learn more about the accident.
