Woman missing after armed carjacking in North Battleford

A woman, 33, is missing following an early-morning armed carjacking that took place on Railway Avenue East on February 14. 

According to Battleford RCMP, officers were called at about 5 a.m. CST after a man reportedly approached a vehicle occupied by two adult women, threatened them with a firearm, and stole the vehicle.

Police said one of the women, identified as Leanna Frenchman, remained inside when the suspect fled. 

She has not been located, and investigators are concerned for her well-being.

The second car occupant managed to leave the vehicle before it sped away and was not physically harmed.

Frenchman may be with the armed male suspect, whom she does not know. 

Authorities are unsure of their destination. 

They were last seen driving a red 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with Saskatchewan licence plate 186 NSA in the City of North Battleford.

Frenchman is described as 5-ft., 6-ins. and 105 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair. 

RCMP said they continue to gather additional information about the suspect. 

Anyone with details about this incident, or who may have seen the stolen vehicle, is asked to contact Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers immediately.
