Families can hop into spring this weekend as Government House hosts its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19, from 9 am to noon CST.

The free event invites children to explore the Edwardian Gardens in search of six different coloured eggs hidden among the early spring flowers. Once the hunt is complete, young participants can exchange their eggs for a chocolate treat.

“Everyone is invited to Government House to celebrate Easter and make lasting memories with family and friends,” said Eric Schmalz, Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission. “No matter the weather, the Easter egg hunt is free, family fun in a beautiful and historic location.”

While a limited number of baskets will be available, families are encouraged to bring their own. In the event of poor weather, the festivities will be moved indoors.

Along with the hunt, visitors can also tour the Amédée Forget Museum and enjoy the newest exhibit in the Queen Elizabeth II Art Gallery.
