Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Energy and Resources Minister Colleen Young are making the case for the province’s energy sector on the world stage at CERAWeek 2025, one of the most influential energy conferences globally.

Their mission is to promote Saskatchewan’s leadership in responsible energy development, sustainability, and innovation.

"Saskatchewan is a world leader in energy innovation, and has the expertise needed to drive change in the global energy landscape," said Moe.

"As a key energy partner to the United States, we are strengthening our integrated supply chains and emphasizing the long-term reliability of our energy sector across North America. CERAWeek provides a critical opportunity to reinforce the province's reputation as a stable and reliable partner in energy, responsible resource development, and sustainability with investors and industry leaders from across the world.”

The annual conference in Houston provides a crucial platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to discuss the future of energy.

Moe and Young are using the opportunity to reinforce Saskatchewan’s reputation as a stable and reliable jurisdiction for investment, resource development, and sustainability.

Moe is set to participate in a spotlight session titled “The Giant of the North: Canada’s Energy Future” on Tuesday, where he will discuss Canada’s role in global energy security.

Saskatchewan’s contributions to emissions reductions, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), and energy sector innovation will be key talking points.

In addition to engaging in panel discussions, the Saskatchewan delegation will hold meetings with energy companies from North America, Japan, and beyond, aiming to attract further investment in the province’s diverse energy sector.

Saskatchewan is one of the few jurisdictions in the world that produces crude oil, natural gas, uranium, biofuels, wind, and hydro power. The province is also emerging as a major player in lithium production, with promising brine lithium deposits.

Young emphasized Saskatchewan’s investment attractiveness, citing the government’s commitment to a stable and predictable business environment.

"Our province consistently ranks at the top of the pack for North American investment attractiveness in the energy and mining sectors, and is number one in Canada," said Young.

"That is all due to the Government of Saskatchewan's stable and predictable business climate, our results-based regulatory approach, our competitive royalty regimes and innovative incentive programs, and access to high-quality geological data. I encourage investors to consider banking on Saskatchewan and its many energy sector opportunities."

With vast oil and gas reserves, the world’s richest high-grade uranium deposits, and a strong focus on sustainable development, Saskatchewan is positioning itself as a key player in global energy security both now and in the future.
