A man has been charged with first-degree murder following a deadly incident last week in Regina.

Police say officers and EMS were called to the 800 block of Victoria Ave. around 5:30 am on April 24. When they arrived, they found an injured adult male who was declared dead shortly after.

The area was secured and additional units from the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit were called in. An investigation began alongside the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, ultimately determining the death to be a homicide.

As a result, Keli Stonechild, 33, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Stonechild is scheduled to make his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court today.

Police say the victim’s name will not be released at the family’s request.

This is Regina’s third homicide of 2025.
