Saskatchewan government has launched a new physician recruitment campaign aimed at attracting doctors from across Canada and internationally to practice in the province. The "Saskatchewan is Calling" campaign, developed in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency, features three practicing physicians from North Battleford, Saskatoon, and Swift Current who share their experiences working and living in Saskatchewan."We want to spread the word amongst physicians from Canada and abroad that Saskatchewan is a great place to put down roots, grow a fulfilling career, and enjoy an excellent quality of life in one of our welcoming communities," Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill said. The campaign highlights professional and personal benefits, including competitive compensation, lower cost of living, comfortable lifestyle, and shorter commutes. It also emphasizes team-based care, a supportive physician network, and opportunities for career growth and leadership roles..Dr. Tin-Wing Yen, an obstetrician and gynecologist from North Battleford who participated in the campaign, said there are numerous opportunities for family physicians and specialists in the province."Join our medical community and experience life under the living skies for yourself," Yen said.Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency CEO Terri Strunk said peer-to-peer interaction is crucial for deepening prospective candidates' interest."The stories of these physicians, highlighting why Saskatchewan is such a wonderful place to build a rewarding career in healthcare and enjoy a high quality of life, is very compelling to those who may not know much about our province," Strunk said..The campaign will run on provincial, national, and international online platforms as well as physical locations, including billboards, subway stations, and transit shelters in Canada and the United States. The initiative follows a recent US advertising campaign encouraging American physicians to consider practicing in Saskatchewan, where they can benefit from one of the most straightforward pathways to medical licensure.Rural and Remote Health Minister Lori Carr said Saskatchewan offers attractive career opportunities with some of the best physician compensation rates in the country."By investing in our provincial Health Human Resources Action Plan, Saskatchewan is a very attractive place for health care professionals to live, work, and build a career," Carr said.
