SASKATOON — Roughly 70 temporary foreign workers rallied outside the First Ministers Meeting today, angered that Ottawa has not renewed their work permits. About 25 Saskatoon police officers kept them from entering TCU Place, where the meeting is happening..An officer told the Western Standard that more demonstrators are expected throughout the day. The protestors allege that tens of thousands risk deportation if temporary work permits lapse. All exterior doors at the downtown conference site were locked as premiers and Prime Minister Mark Carney met inside for closed door talks.
