Tamara Lich and Chris Barber, key figures in organizing the Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa in 2022 have appeared on Fox News, offering a post-mortem on the political demise of Justin Trudeau following his resignation on Monday.

Lich and Barber were arrested and faced charges of including mischief, intimidation, obstructing police, and counselling others to commit offences for their Freedom Convoy activism, which resulted from a loss of personal and societal liberty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We've been through the most vicious tyrannical mandates in the last nine years, including the COVID mandates under Trudeau," said Barber during the Fox broadcast of Trudeau's resignation.

"We've been in trouble up here for quite some time. So this is welcome news, although it isn't good enough with him just stepping down. We would like to have seen him lose in an election."

The final outcome of Lich and Barber's legal troubles is pending. The defence argued they were exercising their Charter-protected rights to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly.

The Crown countered, saying their actions went beyond those rights, crossing into criminality by inciting mischief and obstruction.

"I think what we achieved in Ottawa, we were very successful at exposing the man (Trudeau) that he actually is, which is essentially an ideologically authoritative politician," said Lich in the broadcast.

Barber added, "Tamara and I have been run through the courts for the last three years — lawfare is at an all-time high in this country, especially towards anyone that had the audacity to stand up to Trudeau and his government throughout those COVID vaccine mandate years."
