Re: 'Canadians back fast-tracking projects, but split over Bill C-5’s tradeoffs'Reasonable and prudent Albertans are sitting back this summer, watching Bill C-5 unfold and thinking, 'Here we go again.'For years, Canada endured what could be called the epitome of bad financial management under Justin Trudeau. His kamikaze approach to public finances ran up more national debt than all previous Canadian prime ministers combined. Now Prime Minister Mark Carney appears to be saying: 'Hold my beer and watch this.'.According to the Fraser Institute, Canada is currently on track to announce a $100 billion deficit — a tenth of a trillion dollars. Albertans are left shaking their heads, asking, 'Why aren’t more Canadians outraged by this?'There is only one Hail Mary move left for Canada to rescue itself from financial collapse: unlocking Alberta oil. Supposedly, that was the purpose of Bill C-5.Given the urgency of the country’s fiscal crisis, one would think the government would be racing full speed toward a solution. But C-5 passed on June 26, 2025, and since then there have been no new project approvals — let alone ground broken on any infrastructure that could generate real revenue.C-5 has been nothing more than another Liberal curtain of deception — delaying, deferring, and denying scrutiny just long enough for Clown King Carney to climb back into his Canada clown car and drive it straight off a cliff.Chris RobertsonStony Plain, Alberta
