There is a climate crisis that will cause a heavy lethal human toll, says Virginia-based Paul Driessen, a senior policy advisor with the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT)..But the threat has nothing to do with climate change, contrary to “far-fetched” claims by often foreign-funded “crazy environmentalists” in the U.S. and Canada..“The real climate crisis is due to policies that are being rammed through on the basis of false premises, fear-mongering, and intolerance for fossil fuels,” Driessen told Western Standard..“It’s a hoax. Paul-DriessenPaul Driessen .The push to replace oil, gas and coal with millions of unreliable wind turbines, and billions of solar panels and backup batteries needed will have devastating consequences, he warned..“My kids, my grandkids, their lives depend on access to affordable, reliable, abundant energy — not destroying our planet in the name of saving it, not mining everything under the sun in order to build a bunch of junky wind turbines, solar panels and batteries.”.He predicts the cost of alternative energy will trigger “energy poverty” where people can’t afford to heat or cool their homes, resulting in widespread illness and hypothermia..“That means people die,” wrote Driessen wrote in a recent article entitled Current Climate Policies Will Kill Millions. .Climateers claim alternative energy is “clean and green” ignoring the mining, ore processing, and manufacturing involved on “scales unprecedented in human history” that exploit child and slave labourers..“This causes massive habitat and wildlife losses, air and water pollution, and horrific human health and safety problems.” .Compare that with Alberta’s “environmentally superior” oil sands under siege by the federal government and environmentalists. Driessen was impressed with when he visited Fort MacMurray to explore the province’s energy and environmental record..The push for renewable energy to save the planet is based on “junk science greenhouse-gas hypothesis” and unreliable computer climate models that conclude fossil fuels will cause the earth’s temperature to rise by 4C over the next 80 years, and a warming Arctic will bring colder winters..“This whole climate crisis insanity is based on assumption-driven computer models that spew out all this craziness. Those models are supposed to be a substitute for evidence and reality and natural climate science.”.Climate “fanatics” ignore temperature, tornado, and hurricane records..“On the basis of those models and this hysteria, we’re supposed to throw away our heat, our food, our pharmaceuticals, our plastics, our transportation, our living standards and our health..“I sure don’t want to give up my living standards. I know darn good and well that Al Gore, Barak Obama, (Justin) Trudeau and the rest of those folks aren’t about to give up their living standards either. And, I’m forgetting his name, a very loud guy… Ah, (David) Suzuki. Oh, my Lord, he’s another raging, hypocritical example.”.Driessen used to be a tree-hugger. He was a member of the Sierra Club and Zero Population Growth, who went on to author a few books including Eco-Imperialism: Green Power, Black Death, an indictment of environmentalism’s deadly impacts upon the Third World..“I found out they lied to me way too much,” said Driessen, who said the environmental movement is intolerant in its views, inflexible in its demands, and unwilling to recognize strides made in protecting the environment..“Alternative energy isn’t clean, green, reliable or sustainable. Corporate groups plan to get more filthy rich off climate science and climate catastrophes and a switch to so-called green energy.”.Switching is a costly endeavor. .“You’re going to have to at least double the amount of electricity generation which means in the U.S. and Canada you’ll literally need millions of wind turbines, billions of solar panels and billions of back-up batteries..“That means massive amounts of mining under mostly Chinese auspices with child slave labour in Africa, in Mongolia, and various other parts of the planet with no pollution standards. They’re using fossil fuels and emitting prodigious amounts of carbon dioxide, greenhouse gases, and actual pollution. Sulphur dioxides and stuff.”.Russia and China finance propaganda, using climate change as a weapon against the West while expanding their use of fossil fuels, he said..“The Sea Change Foundation, for example, takes a lot of Russian money and funnels it to environmentalist groups to launch these campaigns and carry them forward, and supports politicians in league with all of these folks.”.Consumers, already burdened with unemployment and inflation, will be at the mercy of unaffordable costs and an unreliable energy supply..Wind turbines don’t always work and winter is a “lousy time” for solar..“It certainly doesn’t work at night or on cloudy days. At any time in winter solar rays are just not good enough to provide enough electricity. Companies are having to use gas to generate electricity and it’s at a premium price..“Prices are skyrocketing. And people cannot afford to pay their electric bills.
