Sask high-risk violent sex offender back in custody after third breach of conditions

High-risk violent sex offender Louis Ted Mercredi, 41, is once again behind bars following his third breach of release conditions since March 2023.

Regina Police Service (RPS) issued a public disclosure warning notice about Mercredi on January 13, cautioning residents about his potential risk to reoffend. 

RPS officers confirmed this latest arrest did not involve an offence against another individual.

Mercredi, who also breached his conditions in October 2023, has now been returned to a closed-custody facility. 

While the details of his most recent breach remain undisclosed, RPS continues to monitor high-risk offenders to ensure public safety across the community.

Investigations continue into Mercredi’s actions since being released.
